Tor Bukkvoll

Dr. Tor Bukkvoll specializes in political developments in Russia and Ukraine, particularly in defense and security. He has published extensively on Russian Special Operations Forces, private military companies, and precision-strike regimes. He holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Simon Miles

Title: Assistant Professor Affiliation: Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University

Simon Miles is an assistant professor at Duke University, focusing on international relations and strategy. He is the author of Engaging the Evil Empire: Washington, Moscow, and the Beginning of the End of the Cold War (2020) and is currently working on a history of the Warsaw Pact.

Dr. David Kilcullen is a leading theorist and practitioner of guerrilla and unconventional warfare, counterinsurgency, and counterterrorism. He has served as a senior advisor to U.S. General David Petraeus and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He is the author of five prize-winning books and leads the Future Operations Research Group at UNSW Canberra.

He is the author of several books, including Spetsnaz: Russia’s Special Forces (2015) and Russian Political War (2019). His next book, The Weaponisation of Everything, will be published in 2022.
